14.12.2005 EXPORT OF CHEESE INCREASED IN TEN TIMES
Volumes of milk product in Armenia in 2005 have grown on 6 %. Samvel Avetisyan, the first deputy minister of agriculture of Armenia informed on it. As he said, according to preliminary calculations of the Ministry of Agriculture, manufacture of cheese by the end of 2005 in comparison with 2004 also has increased for 18 %.
Let's note that in 2004 the Armenian farmers and the cooperative enterprises have made 555 thousands of tons of milk from which 49 % are sold only. 90 % of milk made in republic is from cow and only 10 % are necessary on a share of goats, sheep and buffalo. The tendency of growth of export of the Armenian cheese is observed also. So, if in 2003 90 tons of cheese was exported then, in 2004 this parameter has grown up to 1 thousand tons have been taken out.
The following tendency is observed and in the current year, has noted S.Avetisyan, having emphasized, that the basic commodity markets of the Armenian cheese is Moscow (Russia) and Los Angeles (USA). Not only traditional grades of the Armenian cheese from cow, sheep and goat’s milk are exported ("Lori", "Chanakh", "Eghegnadzor", "Kate", "Chechil" and "Suluguni"), but also the Dutch and French grades ("Emental", "Tom", "Edam", "Kamamber", "Kolbie", "Shevr" and "Roquefort cheese"). more... |
