23.12.2005 AN HOUR ON THE ICE COSTS 1000 AMD
One of these days on the Swan’s Lake the opening ceremony of the open-air skating-rink took place. President R. Khocharian and the mayor of Yerevan Ervand Zakharian were also present at the ceremony. And we wanted to find out whether the skating rink was to work after the opening or not...
Today at about 11 o’clock in the morning we made sure that the skating rink works. And what is more, at the moment of our visit a number of schoolchildren were on the skating under the sounds of gentle music. We wondered how many people visited the rink since December 14.
As we have been informed by one of the workers more than 300 people nave visited the skating rink since the opening. And it turned out that skating on the skating rink is not free at all as it has been promised at the opening ceremony. It was announced that people had to pay only for the skates. But the whole matter is that an hour on the skating rink costs 1000 drams, for about $2,5. Whereas it seemed that the “ticket” was to have a symbolic cost at least in the first season. more... | | | | POSTCARD |

16.12.2005 RAILWAY TO IRAN
Armenia and Iran study an opportunity of construction of the railway between two countries. As Armen Movsisyan, RA minister of energetics has informed, this question was discussed during his recent visit to Teheran. We shall note that the given project is more known under the name "Crossroads" and is estimated from 750 million up to 900 million dollars. Absence of such means at Armenia yet did not allow starting its realization. The following highway would allow Armenia to enter Persian Gulf, and as well as in the markets of the countries of Central Asia. /Arminfo/
