27 March 2007 Ashot Aghababyan Condoles the Whole Nation. |
s a nation, we have lost a Prime Minister who understood the institution of the Government, gloried in its overwhelming responsibilities, and discharged his duties with dash and joy, which were an inspiration to the youth of our nation.
Words cannot describe how the Armenian people felt when they lost their Prime Minister. Not until the vacuum of disbelief was filled with the horror of comprehension did any of us realize how much we identified ourselves, even apart from personal friendship, with the Prime Minister -- this intellectual, vigorous young man -- and he would have been that if he were eighty -- expressing the very essence of the youthfulness of our nation.
The untimely loss of him at this very important juncture in the history Armenia and the Armenian fate leaved unforgotten deep pain in our souls. His visions were very clear and his demand to the world more than fair and high.
The fighting nature who has suffered so much for his ideology: independence, seemed to have been calmed down. But the idea of making the country more powerful always kept him awake.
We are all in grief. But we also take the pride of having been next to him for a long time and getting wiser with him.
And in this moment of immeasurable suffrage we will console ourselves, that people have loved and appraised him the undeniable proof of which is the huge army of confederates. We will console ourselves by the fact that his son is of the same Armenian origin.
RA Prime minister, the leader of the "Hanrapetakan" party of the Republic of Armenia, a true personality and unreplaceable friend Andranik Margaryan. His memory will always be bright in our hearts.
